How did you draw that? That is the question I hear the most, then the next question, “Did you do that by hand?”
So I thought I would show you my creation style with a step by step procedure.
First step, break out the lead holder with 2H Lead. The hardness of the lead helps keep the illustration very clean.
Next, grab your Copic Pens and start inking! I usually start small and build towards the thicker outline.
Erase the graphite and add some color with Copic Markers. Be sure to start with the lighter colors.
Don’t forget to slow down and spend the time to slowly build from light to dark. Be careful… …don’t go too dark. Dark browns, blues and greys can get you in deep water fast.
Lastly, dive into Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator to clean up imperfections and apply the final touches.
